Exempt dependents of NHS workers (ILR) from the Immigration Health Surcharge

NHS Staff under Tier 2 and dependents were exempt of IHS from April 2020. But after they gain ILR their dependents have to pay IHS again, even if the person continues to do the same NHS job. Exemption should continue for IHS. It’s unfair to charge again just because the NHS worker has gained ILR.

Where people were Tier 2 NHS staff, meaning their dependents were exempt of IHS thanks to UK Government COVID policy, but went on to obtain ILR, this means that their dependents are no longer exempt for IHS. This fee is very difficult to pay for many people. It’s not reasonable for people to be required to pay this fee again, when they were previously exempt. It’s not fair for frontline COVID fighters.
