Too many dogs are being imported into the UK by unscrupulous breeders and others. Many are not healthy especially after a long journey in often disgusting conditions. The import licence and fee should apply to one dog only and multiple dogs (litter) should all require a separate licence. Each licence should have a photo of each dog/puppy added to enable full checking to take place, all persons wishing to import a dog must apply and obtain a licence before travel has commenced.
