Fund screening and public awareness for heart conditions for all young people

We want the Government to fund free heart screening for all young people. Screening could help prevent Sudden Adult Death & funding should be provided to make this readily available under the NHS, with a public awareness campaign run by the Government.

Every week in the UK at least 12 people under the age of 35 die of undiagnosed heart conditions (commonly referred to as SADS - Sudden Adult Death Syndrome).

In most cases, this is without any prior signs or symptoms.

There are tests to diagnose and help prevent many cardiac abnormalities. This is by having an ECG test and results read by a cardiologist.

These tests are not widely available under the NHS for young people. Funding these tests however could save countless lives.
