The UK is facing a crisis in recruitment in the Haulage/Logistics sector. There are 76,000 vacancies. The reasons are varied i.e. Government support for training is insufficient. Inability to insure recently qualified drivers. Return of EU drivers to their home countries following Brexit. IR35 rules of employment. This crisis could result in deliveries of food, supplies and fuel to be interrupted. Help is urgently required. Add HGV Drivers to the UK Government Shortage Occupations List.
