Fund a universal income by taxing environmentally damaging products

Introduces 'sin taxes' (like those on tobacco and alcohol) to environmentally damaging products and services, eg. single use plastics, harmful chemicals, fertilizers and pesticides, meat and dairy, polluting transportation, etc. The money raised is then given back to everyone via a universal income.

Environmentally friendly options are often expensive. If we make the alternatives products pay for the damage they cause, there will be a level playing field. Prices will rise, but affordability will not be an issue as people will be in receipt of a universal income to compensate. Those who switch to a more environmentally friendly lifestyle and those on low incomes will benefit most, funded by environmentally unfriendly people and those on higher incomes.
