During Brexit negotiations, it would seem that this approval has been overlooked. My plea is for the Secretary of State for Defra to negotiate special dispensation from the EU to accept pigeons as a temporary import, in order for Pigeon Racing to continue from France/EU and support our communities.

For over 120 years the National Flying Club and other organisations have organised races in which the whole nation can come together. Friends and families prepare their birds to compete in the most prestigious races from France in the knowledge that it is the most unbiased route into Great Britain. For most of those years we have enjoyed unfettered access by our friends and neighbours in France for our convoys of Racing Pigeons to be liberated, to fly directly to their home lofts.
