The Government should make it a criminal offence to make false claims about military service. This includes claims by people that have never been in the military as well as lies or embellishments by genuine veterans.

Numerous individuals falsely pose as having military or ex military back grounds. As well as being extremely insulting, this can result in huge amounts of money being submitted to charitable causes as a result of fraudulent claims. This needs to stop.
