Allow vehicles to be registered as a ‘camper van’ in VC5 log book

The DVLA should reinstate the ‘camper van’ body type designation so vehicles can be registered as such in the VC5 log book. Owners would then have to prove the vehicle is suitably fitted out, as is already the case for motorhomes.

As campervans are typically smaller than motor homes and there are fewer on the roads, allowing them to be registered as such could lead to lower or no clean air zone (CAZ) or low emission zone (LEZ) charges.
