Require all schools to have at least one trained Mental Health First Aider

I would like to see more school staff trained in Mental Health First Aid to help students. Many students struggle with their mental health, and requiring every school to have at least one trained Mental Health First Aider should help support these students.

Mental Health First Aiders could help spot potential risks with students. They could spot symptoms and in line with each schools' policies, they can then act accordingly and get students the help they need to handle any mental health issues.

Parents, family and friends can notice when someone is struggling, but schools have a duty of care and should be in a position to take action if a student shows any signs of mental health issues.
