Introduce background checks and statutory regulation of company directors

Current processes for registering limited companies are not adequate. Companies House should be required to conduct thorough background checks on company directors before registering a company, and should be given the role of regulating the conduct of company directors.

Rogue trading is a crisis that leaves many innocent people out of pocket, in debt, upset, depressed and worse!

I have been a victim of a rogue trader who took £17,000 of my hard earned money.

I cannot understand why Companies House do not regulate directors. Directors should be required to prove DOB, prove past names via deed poll, and allow liquidation companies to access to all their accounts (personal and business). It’s too easy for innocent people to lose their assets. It has to stop!
