Create a national domestic abuse register and new requirements for offenders

The Government should introduce a national domestic abuse register of everyone convicted of domestic abuse offences. Individuals on the register should be required to report any new relationships, so that relevant information can be passed on to new partners. Failing to do so should be an offence.

We are fully supportive of Claire's law, however, why should it be the abused/vulnerable that need to seek out information?

Requiring people convicted of domestic abuse offences to report new relationships, and making failure to do so an offence, would also give authorities the power to act quickly if these requirements are not met.
