Childminders are not currently permitted to receive funding under the Government’s 15 or 30 hours childcare entitlements for childcare they provide to the children of family members. Changing this would help families pay for childcare and give the children the best care. During the pandemic, many children could have been supported by someone who yes is their grandparent but who is also a childcare professional.
