Nearly 2,000 deaths and 25,000 serious injuries occur in the UK every year. Some of these casualties could be avoided with better night time visibility on the roads. The current condition of the roads is sufficiently poor with the amount of potholes and ageing tarmac and in addition to that night time driving in the winter months with bad weather can be challenging and very dangerous.
