Spiking, in which drugs or alcohol are covertly added to another person's drink in the attempt to inebriate them, is a serious crime that surely violates the Licensing Act and licensing objectives and the expected safety of individuals within their care. Funding must be made available for training for venues and their staff to undertake training on how and when to spot spiking, and recognize their responsibility in assisting with medical support and police prosecution of the offender. Victims must have the agency to report venues which do not follow these objectives.
