Impose a corporation tax surcharge on companies that produce single-use plastics

Every year billions of single-use plastic bottles and plastic packaging are bought across the UK, most ending up in landfill sites and in the oceans, causing damage to wildlife and resulting in microplastics that pollute the food chain. It can take upwards of 450 years for a single plastic bottle to degrade and so the problem is one that is going to affect future generations. It’s about time the Government took this problem seriously and showed they are serious about sustainability.
