Stronger Legal Framework to Ensure Carbon Neutrality Targets

The Climate Change Act 2008 should be updated to put our promises of finance for developing countries into law along with allocating more money to climate technology and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Companies should also be legally mandated to follow carbon neutral targets.

With COP26 happening, the challenge to our way of life and the planet has never been so pressing. The calamity of the status quo has forced even our monarchy, usually the most neutral institution, to declare that we must adopt a "war-like footing". Despite talking ambitiously the government is currently overpromising and underdelivering with experts fearing that our current strategy means we are unlikely to reach our goals.
