Legally Protect the titles 'Psychotherapist' and 'Counsellor' for Safeguarding

With an increasing number of individuals seeking privately-funded psychotherapy for the first time, especially after the pandemic, surely, protecting these titles in law will only serve to protect the most vulnerable people going through a mental health crisis.

If there are legal safeguards against people from calling themselves a 'General Practitioner', then why shouldn't there be similar safeguards in the mental health sector?
