Set up a national harms reporting scheme for non-pharmacological treatments

The Government should set up a national reporting scheme, similar to the MHRA’s Yellow Card scheme, to allow patients in receipt of non-pharmacological treatments on the NHS to report suspected harms.

Although patients do currently have the right to make a complaint to their NHS provider if they are harmed by a treatment, vulnerable patients can be reluctant to use this service in case it impacts their subsequent care. A centralised system should allow greater anonymity and oversight.
