Introduce new metal detector requirements for city centre venues

I want the Government to make it a legal requirement for all hospitality venues within a city centre that have a capacity of 100+ guests to install knife arches. Venues under this capacity in a city centre should be required to check all visitors using metal detection wands.

I was recently the victim of an act of violent knife crime at a city centre venue, and I want the Government to take action to protect the public from further acts of senseless knife crime. Hopefully, this will go some way to combatting knife crime across our country.

Knife arches should be essential in every city centre venue 100+ capacity to protect guests, venue and security staff. Those below this capacity should be required should also have metal detection equipment.
