It is absolutely ridiculous that we are not leading the world with e-scooter use today. They are efficient and carbon friendly and are no more dangerous than electrically assisted bicycles. We should embrace their use with a new license, insurance and a basic MoT test.

e-Scooter use is booming even though it is clearly illegal due to great political lethargy in their acceptance and regulation.
Government approved trials are quite successful and it is certainly in the public interest to allow members of the public to be able to use this new form of transport in a safe and regulated way.
If we do not do this there is going to be millions of users forced to break the law if the current outdated laws aren’t changed to take account of new technologies.
