The Government should provide funding to ensure that children being taken into local authority care are provided with suitable luggage to put their possessions in when moving to a new home or family. Many such children end up moving their possessions in a bin liner. This is unacceptable.

The law is clear about protecting children who are removed from their parents in terms of their welfare and safety. We believe that failing to ensure children being taken into care have luggage for their possessions is disrespectful and can make an already difficult process worse. This must change.
