We urge the UK Government to take immediate action to implement without delay arrangements that will enable households in England to sponsor Ukraine nationals (with or without family connections to the UK) who wish to seek safety in the UK.

Given the state of the UK's public finances and the strains of the UK's public services, we understand the Government's wish to limit those seeking refuge in the UK. The plight of Ukraine nationals seeking safety in the wake of Russia's invasion of their country is extremely severe. Urgent action is required immediately to enable households in England with space to spare to provide housing, food and other basic needs for Ukraine nationals at no cost to the taxpayers of the UK.
