Delays in receiving BRPs can put their lives on hold, making it difficult to prove their right to work to an employer, access healthcare after paying the immigration health surcharge, and making travel difficult. The Government must review production and delivery of BRPs to improve waiting times.

People who have a job offer can find it difficult to prove their right to work to their employer if they have not received their BRP. I am aware of employers chasing BRP applications with the Home Office, and receiving no response. Some people are homeless because they have not been able to prove their right to rent. People also face difficulties travelling and accessing healthcare.
The government should undertake an urgent review of current arrangements for production and delivery of BRPs, to identify how delays can be eliminated.
