Fund extension of NHS LSF bursary for paramedic students with a first degree

Paramedic students are not entitled to the NHS Learning Support Fund maintenance bursary if they have previous degrees. The bursary was widely promoted to recruit Paramedics. We would like the Government to fund the extension of this bursary to paramedic students with a first degree.

Most other pre-registered students (with previous degrees) who are studying other healthcare subjects are eligible for the bursary and yet student paramedics are not. We feel it is unjust and logically inconsistent not to support paramedic students, particularly given the rhetoric around how invaluable Paramedics are to the NHS.
