Add carbohydrates per item to “Front of pack” nutrition labelling, for diabetics

I want the Government to add carbohydrates to the list of items that are listed in "Front of pack" nutrition labelling. This would show the number of grams of carbohydrates in the product, in addition to having it on the back, where it is often only listed per 100 grams.

Type 1 diabetics count their carbohydrates to help them manage their blood glucose levels. Current nutritional labelling can make it difficult to work out how much carbohydrates are in a product. By adding carbohydrates to the list of items that are listed in "Front of pack" nutrition labelling, the Government can make it easier for people to find potentially vital information about the carbohydrate content of products.
