Music licensing is carried out by an independent limited company that sets unregulated tariffs. Businesses that use commercially available music as part of their service (eg. dance & fitness classes) are charged rates that could undermine the viability of their business. Also, we believe the conditions on which uses of music incur a charge are unreasonable. This petition asks Government to establish a regulator to ensure that tariffs and chargeable uses are fair and don’t create a barrier to sustainable business
