Currently eligibility for statutory maternity leave and pay only begins after the 24th week of pregnancy if the baby is not born alive. Maternity entitlements should be offered to parents in situations where a pregnancy is terminated after the 20-week scan for medical reasons.

My partner had to end our pregnancy with our baby boy James due to his kidneys failing.
