Grant amnesty and automatic ILR to under-18s after 5 years in the UK

Currently, a young person could live for 10 years in the UK but be unable to claim ILR if there is a ‘gap’ period during those years when their parents couldn’t afford to extend their visa or apply for ILR. This then ‘resets’ the 10 years’ continuous residence that is required in order to apply for ILR, requiring them to wait at least 5 years before applying again. This should be changed.
