Increase mental health care funding for children under 11s

We call on the Government to increase funding for mental health services for under 11s. NHS mental health services for young people and children are available but can be difficult to access for children under the age of 11.

Access to these services can depend on where you live and if your local NHS authority provide care for children under 11. We want this care and support to be available to all children under 11 who need it, regardless of where they live. Increasing funding to the NHS will allow more local areas to provide these services.

Funding could also be used to better train NHS staff to diagnose and signpost parents and children to the correct services. This will hopefully eventually ease the strain on future adult mental health services, as issue can be dealt with earlier on in life.
