Increase the HMRC Mileage Rate from 45p/mile to 60p/mile

We represent construction workers who travel many miles to non permanent places of work, they rely on the allowance to take that extra mile, and ensure their vehicle gets to and from work safely. Prices have risen sharply since 2011, it's time the allowance rose from 45p to 60p a mile.

The 45 pence a mile allowance was introduced in 2011, the allowance takes into account wear and tear, depreciation, general maintenance, in addition to the fuel cost. As fuel has risen 30% since 2011, and with inflation riding over 10% today, 45 pence a mile is now sadly not enough.
