Bring back national ID cards

We want the Government to bring back national ID cards, that were abolished in 2011, so that these can be used as a legal form of identification across the UK. Many non-governmental ID cards are not accepted by some businesses, so a national ID card is needed.

If you do not have a driving licence it can be difficult to prove your identity or age without carrying a passport, which many people do not want to carry around with them. Reintroducing a national ID card scheme would make it easier for people to prove their age and identity.
