This petition is seeking to alter the rules around opening hours for betting shops. Betting shops should be limited to 9am opening and 9pm closing on weekdays, and 8pm on weekends.

Currently, betting shops around the UK are often open far longer than retail establishments and due to the current economic climate, we believe that this is unnecessary and only encourages destructive gambling habits - especially from those who may be recovering or trying to recover from an addiction.
We cannot see why there is any reason betting shops should be permitted to open for such long hours, instead we should be protecting people - not pushing for profit.
