The Government is considering capping social housing rent increases for next year, with options at 3%, 5% and 7% being considered. We believe any cap on social housing rent increases should also apply to residential park homes on protected sites.

Until such time as the Government changes the inflation index for pitch fees from RPI to CPI as promised in 2018, many park home residents are already disadvantaged in those inflationary increase. Therefore, before and beyond that change, any cap on rent increases for social housing should also apply to park homes.
