Make narcissistic abuse a specific criminal offence in personal relationships

Make Narcissistic abuse a specific offence under domestic abuse laws. Whilst these laws have improved and do cover narcissistic abuse to some extent, we believe narcissistic abuse should be made a specific offence, with a clear definition in law, to make it easier for this abuse to be tackled.

There is too little understanding and support from police for those who have been subjected to this type of abuse. It is too often not seen as a serious offence, when potentially small little acts can have such a detrimental effect on a person's self esteem, mental health, life, work and their families around them.

Making narcissistic abuse a specific offence should mean this type of abuse is taken more seriously by the police. This should be accompanied by specific training to be put in place for law enforcement so they are better aware of the effects of and able to identify this type of abuse.
