Hold a public inquiry into historic Child Sexual Exploitation in Blackpool

We call on the Government to hold a public inquiry into child sexual exploitation in Blackpool, including any failures of police and social services. We believe not enough action has been taken to tackle child sexual abuse and exploitation in Blackpool, and that victims remain vulnerable to abuse.

With a large transient population, a high rate of child residents with complex needs, and as a destination for visiting family tourists, Blackpool faces unique barriers in knowing the full scale of CSE in the town.

As such, we believe a public inquiry is needed into child sexual exploitation in Blackpool, including any failures of police and social services, so that lessons can be learned and additional action taken if needed, so children are well protected.
