Introduce at least one bank holiday per month in the United Kingdom.

Existing traditional bank holidays would remain. Using the year 2024 as an example, there are currently 8 bank holidays in total throughout the year. A proposal for at least one bank holiday per month would be to increase this number to 14.

Extra bank holidays throughout the year would improve well-being in both physical and mental health amongst the workers of the United Kingdom. It would also help the economy by allowing time to think and innovate. Productivity would improve in businesses and there would be less strain on the NHS. For the year 2024, the months of February, June, July, September, October and November would each gain a bank holiday.
