Make statutory redundancy pay 1.5 weeks per year of service for all workers

I want the Government to amend the Employment Rights Act 1996 to ensure that the "Redundancy Payment" is equal for all ages. 1.5 week’s pay for every year served for all age brackets, whether under 22, 22-40 or 41 and older.

I believe all workers are equal. Therefore, if companies have to make redundancies, I believe that people of all ages deserve the same entitlements to redundancy pay if they've been undertaking the same job for the same amount of years. 1.5 week’s pay for all years served should be equal.

Currently people under the age of 22 are only entitled to half a week’s pay for each year of service, and people aged 22 to 40 are only entitled to one week’s pay for each year of service.
