Withdraw funding for Skills Bootcamps in HGV driving

We believe that the Government is unnecessarily training more HGV drivers, when driver shortages have declined. We want the Government to withdraw funding for the Skills Bootcamps in HGV driving, until there is a clear need for further Government intervention.

2 years ago there was a huge driver shortage, so the Government offered funding to give free HGV training. Now, due to the free training, and also because of the decline in the economy, driver shortages have declined. Some recently trained are struggling to find work, yet the Government continues to train more drivers.
