The NUG has gained staunch support from the people of Myanmar as evidenced by participation in campaigns such as silent protests. In October 2021, the NUG was formally recognised by the EU and French Parliaments. We urge the UK Government and Parliament to recognise the NUG as the legitimate government of Myanmar. This is vital to restore democracy in Myanmar.
