All taxis and private hire vehicles (PHVs) should be required to be fitted with internal cameras, to help prevent serious incidents from occurring, and to protect both driver and passengers from any false allegations.

Over the past couple of months, multiple incidents where a taxi driver has been accused of sexually assaulting a passenger have occurred. This is disgraceful, and shouldn’t happen. It is standard practice to have CCTV onboard buses and trains, so why shouldn’t taxis and PHVs?
