Repeal Part 3 of the Transport Act 2000 on road user charging

I am requesting that the Government repeal Part 3 of the Transport Act 2000, on "Road user charging and workplace parking levy". This would prevent local authorities implementing road charging schemes, many of which we believe are poorly conceived.

We believe many local authorities are introducing road charging schemes without due consideration for the wishes of local communities, or future transport developments, such as the increased take up of electric vehicles. These schemes are not even subject to local referendums.

We want the powers of local authorities to implement road charging schemes to be removed, so that these schemes can only be introduced by the Government.
