End means testing for Legal Aid for proceedings in the Court of Protection

Legal Aid should not be means-tested for families subject to proceedings in the Court of Protection. Why should some families pay thousands of pounds for legal advice or be expected to self represent in a complex judicial system with only the most determined persisting?

Remove means testing for Legal Aid for all families who are involved in proceedings, including those pitted against publicly funded barristers and solicitors in the Court of Protection. Remove financial barriers in the way of families at a time when important decisions about their loved ones' care are at stake, including residency, contact and capacity.

Families cannot be expected to navigate these complex systems. How is this a level playing field? Please show your support by signing this petition.
