Stricter regulations should be created, for example: introducing licences, and creating certain areas on beaches designated for sea fishing, so members of the public are aware that there may be a risk from fish hooks.

My dog swallowed a fish hook and line which was left on the beach. She nearly died from sepsis, and had it successfully surgically removed. However, she could still develop infection during recovery. The saddest part is that this is a regular occurrence. Some beaches have strict rules about when a dog is allowed on a beach, and when it needs to be on a lead, so why can’t there be rules to protect our four legged family members?
