Give the people a referendum on allowing firearms for personal/home protection.

The Government should hold a UK wide referendum as to whether or not people should be allowed to own a firearm after gaining a licence to prove they are fit to use it for home and personal protection due to an ineffective police force and violent crime throughout the UK.

The people of this country should be allowed to decide on whether or not private citizens have the right to bear arms. As can be seen our own police force are struggling with violence on our streets, many crimes go unsolved due to lack of funding, people should be allowed the choice to bear arms.
