Ban sharing of penalty points information with non-government organisations

We believe arrangements for sharing of information about penalty points with non-government organisations (such as insurers, employers and rental companies) are too permissive. We want the Government to ban the sharing of information about penalty points with all non-government organisations.

Penalty points should be treated strictly confidentially and not disclosed to any non-government body (insurance, employers, rental companies and so on).

The Government should only be able to confirm if a driving licence is valid (eg. not suspended by the courts).
