Change the law to allow peaceful protesters to block roads

Protesters and organisers should not be liable for a fine or imprisonment for blocking highways. The Government should amend laws, including the Highways Act 1980, to allow protests and demonstrations to block roads.

Organisers should not be forced to pay to produce a traffic management plan for protests that block roads.

Restrictions on peaceful protest have meant that some protestors hide their faces and resist the police. If these restrictions were not in place, peaceful protests would be more feasible, reducing tensions between governing bodies, police, and civilians.
