Raise the unladen weight limit of dual purpose vehicles to reflect new vehicles.

As per “The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986” a dual purpose vehicle can not exceed 2040kg unladen weight. I request that this limit is raised to accommodate new vehicles being produced; as many use vehicles such as pickups for daily non business use.

Due to the vast improvements made in safety design the weight of vehicles has increased significantly since the regulation published in 1986. As such I request that the weight limit is raised to accommodate new vehicles being produced and similar to that of passenger car’s regularly exceeding 2.5 tonnes (eg range rovers).
