Introduce an Ombudsman or similar independent statutory body to be responsible for investigating complaints about veterinary practices including poor quality of service/advice, and excessive charges. The objective is to increase accountability for veterinary practices.
We believe that veterinary practices are not sufficiently accountable, and need to be better regulated. There is a need for an independent statutory body (eg. an Ombudsman) to investigate complaints against veterinary practices, including poor levels of service and unacceptably high levels of fees. We believe the complaint systems available through the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons are not adequate.
