Stop child maintenance payments if receiving parent blocks contact with children

The Government should allow child maintenance payments to be stopped if the receiving parent unjustifiably withholds contact with between the paying parent and their children or discourages them from having a relationship. Help promote meaningful contact between non-residential parents and children.

Currently the residential parent is getting the time with the children and child maintenance paid to them, when they could out of spitefulness discourage the children from having a relationship with the non-residential parent (NRP) or totally denying contact. The NRP can be put through tremendous hardship in this situation and financial pressure to go through the court wasting precious time and money to see their children.
