To be granted a Private Life Visa, you need to demonstrate 20 years of continuous residency in the UK. You then have to wait a further 10 years to be able to apply for indefinite leave to remain (permanent residency) at which point your relatives can apply for a UK Family Visa. We believe this is too long and anyone who holds a Private Life Visa should be allowed for their families to be eligible to apply to join them in the UK.
